Implementation Plan - Autism Services Interdepartmental Working Group
This implementation
plan has been developed by the Autism Services Interdepartmental Working
Group, and is based on work done on Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in
October 1998.
Following the death of, Casey Albury,in 1998, Thomson, and Justice
McGechan called for an independent inquiry into support services for people

NZ Guidelines Group
The New Zealand Guidelines Group was established by the
National Health Committee (NHC) in 1996 as an informal network of expertise
and information on guideline development and implementation. The primary
purpose in establishing the New Zealand Guidelines Group was to train
health and disability professionals and consumers in the development and
implementation of evidence-based best practice guidelines.
The
Ministry of Social Policy
Provides strategic and immediate advice to the Government on a broad range
of social issues affecting all New Zealanders. A useful link for keeping
uptodate on policies for affecting people with ASD.
National
Health Committee
Advises the Minister of Health on funding of public health services and
disability services. Designed to facilitate the use of the World Wide
Web by public health workers and organisations in New Zealand
Participate
Useful to keep an eye on media releases relating to government funded
Initiatives in New Zealand for ASD.

Families
Strengthening Families is a strategy that joins health, education
and the welfare sectors of government to improve life outcomes for children.
